Diabetes is a disease that effects every part of your body if the blood sugar is not kept under control. Here are some suggestions for foot care since this could be one of the complications of diabetes.

You never know when you might receive a cut, red spot or even toenail infections that you didn’t know about.

Please, do not go barefooted.

2- Wash your feet daily in warm water.

Once they are washed then dry them completely and use talcolm powder to keep the skin dry between the toes. Test the temperature of the water to be sure that you do not burn your feet. Do not use lotion between your toes.

3- Socks are required all of the time. Socks will give you the cushion from your shoes rubbing red spots on your feet.

4- When you are sitting down try put your feet up for a while.

5- Check your shoes often and be sure that they have good tops, sides and heels. Shoes for a diabetic should protect your from injury. Always buy shoes that fit with no rubs on your heels or toes.

6- Do not use a heating pad in the winter you could burn your feet.

7- See your podiatrist often so he can check your feet and take care of any corns and calluses that you might have and remove them.

Diabetes has many complications and neuropathy is one which causes foot ulcers. Take care of your feet, stay on a diabetic meal plan and exercise daily.

Prevent these complications and lose weight. You have a lot to do with diabetes consider having a professional plan a diet for you so you can lose weight and prevent diabetic complications.
